Well the short answer is that if you want to be truly successful and happy, the value of workplace culture can’t be underestimated.
I’ve worked intimately behind the scenes with hundreds of businesses over the past 25 years and a handful have really stood out. Those businesses left an impression not only because they were successful, but because everyone seemed happy and engaged. In these high functioning businesses you can see people truly have each others backs, they take ownership for their roles and they work together for common goals.
I’ve also seen businesses (and brands) that should have been propelled to dizzying heights of success, but instead were severely hobbled by workplace issues. These organisations paid little attention to communication and connectivity and had a lack of clarity which in-turn rewarded them with disenfranchised staff or simply put, poor culture.
I wanted a healthy dose of that winning culture for my business, and for my customers so when the “director of culture” from one of those firms I’d admired so much hung up her boots from her previous business we got to talking.
