Tauranga City Council

An emotive story of a local family's mobility journey to Mauao with Te Kaiwhakatere (TrailRider)

Tauranga City Council wanted to share the incredible impact of their 'TrailRider' – a unique powered all-terrain wheelchair that enables individuals with limited mobility to summit Mauao in the Bay of Plenty. They needed a way to convey the profound emotional and practical benefits of the TrailRider to the community.

We knew that the best way to showcase the TrailRider was through compelling and heartfelt storytelling. We set out to produce an emotionally powerful short film that would capture the first experience of a local family using this innovative wheelchair. By focusing on their journey, we were able to highlight the profound impact of the TrailRider in a genuine and touching way - capturing raw emotions, from the initial excitement to the joy and tears of reaching the summit.

The final film not only demonstrated the physical capabilities of the TrailRider but also underscored the emotional and social benefits, making it a powerful advocacy tool for Tauranga City Council.
